Charles Darwin and Evolution - 200 years

This anniversary is one of the highest profile ones of the year, with exhibitions and television programmes already underway. Charles Darwin was the man who first put forward the theory of the evolution of living things.

It is 200 years since Darwin was born (on 12th February 1809) and it will be 150 years on 24th November 2009 since the publication of On the Origin of Species.
