Spellbinding Course on Moodle

Students who are taking part in Spellbinding this year can log on to a course on Moodle. There are tasks for you to do and you can rate the books online. In May you will be able to vote for your top 3 books. Don't forget to use your new Moodle logins and passwords.

Encylopedia of Life

ENCYCLOPEDIA OF LIFE: online encyclopedia that gives information on every species of organism on Earth. The Encyclopedia of Life is a new online encyclopedia that aims to organise and make available virtually all information about life on Earth using the Internet. It is easy to use and you can create a user account so that you can set up your own preferences and searches. You'll find it really useful for your research and projects.

New Reading Group Launched

Questers - a new reading group for Yr 7-9 - was launched today in the Chapman Library. The group meets with Mrs Turnbull and Mrs Kirby every Tuesday and Thursday. Each member has to read 6 books chosen from a list of about 20 and has to give a review to the group when they have finished each book. There will be other activities to do including a course on Moodle too.

Need to find out about Mozart, Walton or Handel? Try searching some selected websites by clicking on the link: http://rollyo.com/sbarry/music_special_events/ Search Hint: Typing in the words William Walton in a search box means the search engine will search for any bits in a site with the word William or Walton or both words. To get a better search result type the name with speech marks around it like this - 'William Walton' - and the search engine will search only for William Walton. If you want to search for William Walton and his music Crown Imperial, then you could try the search term 'William Walton' + 'Crown Imperial' in the search box. Not forgetting the speech marks around the phrases.
