Readathon Update

Readathon is reaching the end of the first week. We hope everybody is busy reading! Don't forget that each book you borrow from the library earns you an entry into a prize draw. Collect your raffle ticket for the draw when you get your book issued. Remember the more you read, the more money will be collected for the charities!!

Readathon 2009 starts next week

The English Department is organising Readathon again this year and of course the Library is pleased to be supporting this fund raising event which encourages you to read more. The event begins on Monday 27th April. We have a huge selection of fiction and non-fiction books in the library which you can borrow and we've also put together some book displays to help you make your choices! Happy Reading!

Charles Darwin and Evolution - 200 years

This anniversary is one of the highest profile ones of the year, with exhibitions and television programmes already underway. Charles Darwin was the man who first put forward the theory of the evolution of living things. It is 200 years since Darwin was born (on 12th February 1809) and it will be 150 years on 24th November 2009 since the publication of On the Origin of Species.
