If you are a member of Cumbria Libraries you can get free access to a wide range of books, magazines and online resources FOR FREE!  Make sure you join your local library if you are not a member. Carlisle Library is in The Lanes so there's no excuse for not popping in to join or you can join online.

You can also search the Cumbria Libraries catalogue online.

Trinity Library subscribes to Complete Issues - a one-stop online resource which brings together a superb range of high quality articles, user-friendly statistics and relevant websites. The website is easy to search, attractive to use and now includes quick and easy Focus Guides to help students to find up to date information on issues.
You need to ask the librarian for log on details.

Office for National Statistics
Use this site to get official figures on every aspect of daily life in the UK eg. the economy, population, society, health and wellbeing, prisons and so on.

Gov.uk
This is the official Government website - and the best place to find out about government services and information like crime and justice, citizenship, money and tax and much more.

Recommended for A Level students:
  • Google Scholar  Useful for higher level research eg for Extended Project. You need to have a good look at the search criteria.  Only some of the material is free to use.
