On Monday, Mr Medley presented certificates and prizes to all the students who took part in the Spellbinding Book Award this year. Congratulations to everyone and well done to those who managed (or very nearly managed!) to read all ten books.
You should see a new icon like this on your desktop Click on this and you will get access to Oliver, the library's online catalogue or OPAC. You can search the catalogue to find particular book/s, titles or subjects. The librarian's also make lists of different resources on OPAC eg recommended books, reading lists. If you need any help please ask one of the librarians.
Mrs Turnbull and 2 Year 7 students travelled to Penrith for the Spellbinding Award Day. The three shortlisted books were The Enemy by Charlie Higson , Candor by Pam Bachorz and Unhooking the moon by Greg Hughes. Students from schools all over cumbria voted for the overall winner - which was Unhooking the Moon .
Thank you to Mike Garry for running 4 brilliant workshops in the Chapman Library for Y7,8 and 9 groups. Everyone had fun and really enjoyed all the poetry. Mike's enthusiasm for poetry and reading was infectious.

This half term Y7 start learning about Odysseus and his Odyssey. Look out for the updated display and follow the journey taken by Odysseus on the map in the library.

We've got lots of new science books and a new display in the collaborative end of the Carliol Library. Some of the new books will be useful for revision and there are some popular science books for everyone. The wall displays give you some tips about finding and using the information available to you to support your studies in science.

This display aims to help you understand what information literacy is and how you can improve yours! Year 7s are beginning work on their summer project this week. We've put up lots of displays to help with the research. You'll find plenty of books to help too - both on display and on the shelves.
