Anniversary of Florence Nightingale's Birthday

Florence Nightingale was born 12th May 1820 in Florence, Italy.  She was the daughter of a wealthy landowner and grew up in Derbyshire/Hampshire in England.
Florence - the Lady with the Lamp - is famous for her pioneering work as a nurse in the Crimean War .
She died on 13th August 1910 so this year is the centenary of her death.

Tom Palmer plays football in the library!

We had a special visitor all day today!  Tom Palmer (the author of "Foul Play") ran some workshops which included a very special kind of library football.  Thanks to all for taking part and particularly the members of staff who were goalies!

Tom Palmer Visits the Library on Tuesday!

Just to remind you that Tom Palmer (author of 'Foul Play') will be holding workshops for Y7 and 8 groups in the Chapman Library on Tuesday.
There will also be a chance to purchase some of his books - so remember to bring some extra cash if you'd like to buy one.
