Readathon Book Tree

It's been a busy week in the library!  Lots of students reading and borrowing books for Readathon. The Reading Tree was filled up with book reviews.

John Connolly visits the library this morning!

John Connolly gave an interesting talk about the origins of Science Fiction and the inspiration for some of his writing.  John was speaking to Y9 English groups in the Chapman Library.  His new novel The Conquest was published last week.  We have copies in the library as well as some of his other books - pop in to see them on display!

Look out Year 7 - these books will be coming to a place near you!  In the next month you'll get the chance to choose one of these books for free.

Spellbinders collect their awards

On Monday, Mr Medley presented certificates and prizes to all the students who took part in the Spellbinding Book Award this year. Congratulations to everyone and well done to those who managed (or very nearly managed!) to read all ten books.

Everyone can now search the library online catalogue

You should see a new icon like this on your desktop Click on this and you will get access to Oliver, the library's online catalogue or OPAC. You can search the catalogue to find particular book/s, titles or subjects. The librarian's also make lists of different resources on OPAC eg recommended books, reading lists. If you need any help please ask one of the librarians.
