Kira, Theo, Jack and Chloe travelled to Penrith with Mrs Barry to attend the Spellbinding award day. There were students from lots of Cumbrian schools. Just before lunch votes were taken for the favourite book from the shortlist. The winner was All our yesterdays by Cristin Terrill. Runner up was Ferryman by Claire McFall. In third place was Bodyguard: hostage by Chris Bradford.

Pink excitement hit the Chapman Library today as we welcomed Cathy Cassidy for a brief visit! Nearly a hundred students packed the library to meet Cathy this lunchtime. Lots of books were sold and everyone got them signed by Cathy. Everyone waits patiently for Cathy to arrive! Cathy talked for a bit about her books Veronika, Gemma and Mia with their new Sweet Honey books. Cathy made sure she signed everyone's books.
